I bloody love a good berry lip for this time of year. As the weather gets cooler, there is nothing I love more than surrounding my existence with scarf galore, getting the big winter coats out and pulling out the berry lips. It is just a classic look for the cooler months and you can find thousands of makeup looks using that deep lip. This is the look I turn to when I really cannot be bothered to do lots of makeup, but I want to look like I have put the effort in. This look is really clean and easy to achieve, here it is…
If you have seen any of my posts recently, you may have seen that I dedicated a whole post to my autumn face routine, I am a big ole’ makeup junkie however and I do like to mix things up so for this look I used a couple of different products all for good reason and I also have a couple of first impressions too!
I always like to start with my face, and today I used my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation mixed with some of my Body Shop Lightening Drops as the shade is as always.. too dark! I wanted to use a foundation with a bit more coverage so that I didn’t have to go crazy with concealer and get a nice even finish. I always use a damp beauty sponge which can sheer out foundations slightly so it isn’t so heavy.
For concealer I have been using the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer as always, although I am so nearly out of this concealer and I want to cry a little bit! I have also been setting my concealer with an old favourite of mine, the Maybelline Matte Maker Pressed Powder. I really love this powder and it is one of very very few that is light enough for me whilst still being affordable! It also has a yellow undertone which I find very hard to get, it is almost like the fair girls equivalent to banana powder.
I have been trying a new product for my contour recently, one that I expressed my interest in on my Brands I’d Like To Try post, it is the Nyx Taupe Blush. My first impression on this product is that it was way darker than I thought it would be, but it works so beautifully. I have really been loving this. It is so even and blends like a dream, you can build it gently without getting patchy and it just looks flawless. I used this to quickly contour and add some definition back to my face. I also used this lightly through the crease of my eye to add a little something.
My favourite part of this look, apart from the lip is my highlight! I have been OBSESSED with a new product to highlight, and that is the Too Faced Champagne Truffle Eye Shadow from the Chocolate Bar Palette. This is honestly the nicest highlight especially for fair skin. It is a vanilla shade with a pink tone to it but with some golden tones too. It is really unique and it is such a gorgeous highlight. It also doubles up as a blush as the pink tones add a slight rosy tint to the cheeks. It is so beautiful.
For my brows I have been trying another new product, the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil. I have heard so many people say this product is identical to a cult favourite: the ABH brow wiz. I personally wasn’t that impressed with it. It was just like another brow pencil for me, it worked well but didn’t do anything different to any other pencils I have tried.
To complete my eyes I used the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and applied a couple of coats to make my lashes nice and fluffy.
The very last step to this makeup look is the star of the show, the L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick – 430 Mon Jules. I have loved this lipstick for years now and it was my first ever berry purchase. It is still a favourite of mine and it just pulls the whole look together and makes it look like you have made an effort. I can do this whole look in 10-15 minutes and it just makes me feel put together, but it is very clean and simple and really doesn’t take much effort to achieve.
I hope you enjoyed the final look!
What is your favourite autumn lip colour? Have you tried the L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks? What is your thoughts?
